      About The Glebe

      • Is an historic neighborhood located in the heart of Ottawa with shops, pubs, restaurants and services located along Bank St. and the Rideau Canal. It is a neighbourhood with strong community association that focused on traffic calming and overall neighbourhood development. It is a community where everyone is a local.

      Neighbourhood Demographic

      • This area of Ottawa brings together families and young professionals looking to close to the downtown area of Ottawa. The Glebe is mostly populated by established families with many social services oriented towards young generations.

      Transit / Parking 

      • If you are a bus goer, biker or diver the Glebe has everything you need to get around. There is ample street parking throughout The Glebe and Garage parking within TD Place at Lansdowne (1015 Bank Street), Glebe Parking Garage (170 Second Ave), Bank & Chamberlain and Fifth Avenue Court (955 Bank Street).
      • With that being said there is extremely convente Bus routes that run through The Glebe. The two major OC Transpo routes are the #6 and #7 that comes every 15 minutes in peak hours. With additional routes 56, 101, 103 also service the Glebe, and an additional six shuttles that are in operation during special events in the area.
      • For all the Bikers out there, The Glebe has the best bike bath that runs along the Rideau Canal, that allows you to go to downtown and all the way to Moony’s bay. There is a official Bike Share program for the Ottawa-Gatineau area called VeloGo. This is a programs that allows you to Hop on and off a bike as you cruise through the city.


      Amenities

      • There is a large stretch of Bank St. that runs through the Glebe and is one of the hottest shopping areas in Wttawa.One of the biggest highlights of the area is the Newly constructed Lansdowne Park which hold TD Place Stadium, Ottawa Civic Center and many shops and restaurants.
      • For particular amenities in the area you can stop by a few grocers such as Whole Foods Market, Abbas Grocery, Metro, Fifth Avenue Grocery, Negozio Nicastro and Kardish Health Food Center for all your food dietary needs. For drugstores there is both Shoppers Drug Mart and Whole Health Pharmacy!
          • Recreation - As a very community focused neighbourhood there are many parks, recreation centers and walking paths you can explore. From Central Park, Commissioners Park, Patterson Creek East, Lionel Britton Park and the best for last Lansdown Park which has an amazing playset for kids all ages. There are so many clubs, truly more than I can list but they range from the Glebe Community Center, GoodLife Fitness Center all the way to St. James Tennis Club. You can also strol, run and bike the beautiful path along the Rideau Canal.


      Schools 

          • For the little ones there is Good Morning Creative Arts and Preschool as well as Glebe Parents Day Care. For elementary schools in The Glebe are First Avenue Public School, Glebe Montessori School, Corpus Christi School and Mutchmor Public School. In addition there is one secondary school Glebe Collegiate Institute.
