- This area of Ottawa runs along a portion of Bank st. that provides residences with several bars/ restaurants, and fun activities for the family such as the Mayfair Theatre and a quick walk over the Canal to Lansdowne. There are two great places for grocery shopping, Whole Foods Market in Lansdowne and Billings Bridge which has both an Independent and a Walmart. For your pharmacy related needs there is a larger Shoppers Drug Mart on Bank St. and a Rexall Pharma Plus in Billings Bridge. As for activities for kids, dogs or yourself you can check out Brewer Park with big play set, baseball diamonds and skating rink in the winter along with Windsor Park and Brighton Beach park. Additional recreational activities can be found within the Old Ottawa South Community Association.
- If you are looking for a place to send your young ones Old Ottawa South has Glebe Parents Daycare, Capital Daycare Center, Astolot Educational Center a an independent Day School and High School. For elementary schools you can check out the Hopewell Public School and Westboro Academy.
